Principals

Michael Hayford, President

Mike, a co-founder of Pinnacle, brings more than 15 years' experience in the wireless communications industry. President of Pinnacle Wireless since its inception in 2001, Mike has led Pinnacle's market growth and branding through key projects, including the Department of Environmental Protection, Grand Hyatt, CNN, Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New Jersey Turnpike Authority and New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority. Currently, Mike is tasked with strategic business development, spectrum initiatives and advanced wireless data applications.

Mike has a proven record of success. During his tenure with Bearcom Wireless, Mike worked his way from the bottom up. Mike entered the industry as a part-time delivery driver while attending college; later he was promoted to rental coordinator and then to field technician. After two years in a customer-support role, Mike transitioned into sales, and he found his calling. Over his five-year tenure in sales, Mike consistently ranked as one of the top five sales representatives in the company's national sales force.

Following Mike's sales success, Bearcom promoted Mike to the position of market General Manager for Las Vegas, where he continued to demonstrate his ability to exceed expectations. Over the short term of 30 months, Mike grew the Las Vegas market by more than 300%, which propelled the market to be ranked #1 in growth and profitability for the national firm.

Tim Walters, Vice President - Director Operations and Finance

Tim is a co-founder of Pinnacle Wireless. He has more than 18 years' experience in the two-way radio business, and is particularly adept in service excellence and project management. Tim has a track record of building businesses from the ground up into local, regional and national powerhouses. During his tenure with BearCom Wireless, he held executive positions in sales and general management and was a regional director. He was an instrumental player in putting together a large-scale, integrated dispatch center for Cox Communications in San Diego, and has expertise in system design and wireless technologies. Tim directs projects for Integrated Dispatch Solutions (IDS), the command and control dispatch division of Pinnacle Wireless.

Chris Love, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Chris has more than 25 years' experience with large systems integration sales. He was responsible for the electronic modernization of The New York Stock Exchange. During his tenure with Motorola, he designed and sold the largest privately owned paging system in the history of Motorola. He led a system sales team that successfully sold and implemented 10 major systems to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. He has also designed, engineered and manufactured a Motorola paging interface device for automatic alarm reporting.

Rich Polulak, Vice President - Director of Business Development

Over the past thirty seven (37) years Rich has gained extensive experience within the wireless communications industry working for Motorola Inc., Glen Rock, New Jersey. His Motorola career initially began with internal positions including credit administration, Order Process Management and Chief Accountant. He later moved to outside sales serving the Public Safety Marketplace in Northern New Jersey; where he was promoted to sales management within 2 years. Leadership positions progressed from:

  • Area Sales Manager for Fire / EMS markets in New Jersey and Connecticut
  • Area Sales Manager New York City
  • Territory Manager New York State
  • Vice President for the Integrated Solutions Division
  • Vice President Focused Account Sales for the Northern Division
  • Vice President and Director Northeast Territory
  • Vice President and Director of Sales for the City of New York

Rich has always serviced the Public Safety Marketplace with a focus on business development, strategic account planning, personnel recruitment and development, and the sale of advanced voice and wireless data solutions to these mission critical customers.

Rich is a graduate of Seton Hall University, with a degree in Marketing, the proud father of six (6), with two (2) grandsons and a grand daughter due in March. Rich resides in Warwick, New York with his wife Sheila and daughter Michaela.

Dan Howard, Director of Engineering

Dan has spent 25 years working with a range of telecommunications technologies, including analog two-way radio, digital APCO Project 25 systems, E9-1-1/radio dispatch centers, trunked radio systems/SMRs/ESMRs, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), microwave and mobile data. His involvement with these technologies is wide ranging as well, covering system design, proposal, sales, installation, maintenance and testing.

Dana Daniels, Manager of Operations/Comptroller

Dana joined the Pinnacle team in early 2003. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and has 20 years of accounting and operational experience ranging from branch banking to high-volume international manufacturing. Dana plays an intricate role at Pinnacle by managing the overall day-to-day flow of operations, as well as working in the capacity of Comptroller. Dana's professional experience, skill level, attention to detail and dedication are reflected in our ability to maintain close relationships with our vendors, along with consistently meeting our customers' needs in a timely manner year after year.

Chris Bohnert, General Sales Manager

Chris has more than 31 years' experience in the two-way radio business, holding sales management positions with Motorola and Bearcom Wireless. His sales management experience includes focused account responsibilities in the commercial, transportation and state and local marketplaces. He is a recent addition to Pinnacle Wireless and is challenged with leading a vertical-market-driven sales force in developing custom technology solutions for customers and growing our rental business through diligent attention to customer satisfaction.

John Hayford, Special Projects Manager

John has more than 12 years' years experience in union labor and logistics management, which made him a natural fit to manage Pinnacle's high-profile implementations. John's extensive experience with union labor work forces and managing teams that are spread over large geographical areas has proven to be a real benefit to Pinnacle and our clients.

Laurence Allen, Program Manager

Larry received his electronics training in The United States Navy. He started working for Warner Communications Co., Inc. in 1986 when he left the Navy. Larry gained extensive experience in the planning and installation of new systems during his 21 years with Warner Communications Co., Inc. He has received certifications from IPC (Orbacom), Motorola, MaCom, and ComTrain. He was promoted to Assistant General Manager in January 2006. Larry’s experience has made him a good fit for the Project Management position, and he is currently taking courses to gain his PMP certificate.
