IDS Selected by United Airlines To Upgrade Denver Flight Dispatch Center - Pinnacle Affiliate

Integrated Distpatch Solutions "IDS" has announced the award of a multi million dollar contract to upgrade the United Airlines Flight Dispatch Center in Denver, Colorado. The project includes the replacement of eighty Five (85) Radio Dispatch Consoles and the upgrade of United’s Trunked Radio Infrastructure.

The Dispatch Center currently utilizes a Motorola Trunked SmartNet radio system utilizing 72 unique Talkgroups which IDS will upgrade with new base stations. The new IDS Dispatch Console system will be based on advanced RoIP technology that will directly interface to the Motorola radio system. In addition to the radio network, United’s Dispatch Center also incorporates 120 telephone lines which IDS will convert to VoIP technology thereby making the Denver operation entirely LAN based.

The IDS system is all based on state of the art Radio over IP or RoIP technology. This technology has proven extremely versatile for the airline industry and particularly for UAL who previously upgraded O’Hare International Airport. The system flexibility and cost savings over conventional dispatch architecture will actually provide a far more robust system for a mere fraction of the traditional cost.
